The 3rd Annual BGH Legacy Celebration 

On October 27th, 2023, we will host our 3rd Annual BGH Legacy Celebration at the Olmsted. Join us for dinner, dancing, an open bar, live music courtesy of The Company Band, a live auction, and a special presentation of the Nicholas X. Simon Altruism Award to Frank and Martha Diebold.

BGH is Building an 8,400 Square-Foot Riding Arena 

On March 20th, 2023 (3:00PM EST), we broke ground on the Hope & Haven Riding Arena, which will expand our Animal-Assisted Therapy Program. In May 2022, we received a $300,000 grant from the FourEvergreen Foundation to build the 8,400 square-foot structure on our Goldsmith Lane campus. The arena will resemble a barn with two sliding doors, six standard windows, and sand flooring for the horses.

On February 18th, 2023, more than 30 amateur and professional chefs competed head to head in the world’s largest biscuits and gravy competition.

BGH Receives Independence Readiness Grant   

The CEO, Amanda Masterson, says the funding will be used to help more children find the stability and resources they need to live independently.

“We really want to be able to make sure we’re taking it beyond just the kids that we serve and being able to serve more young adults in the community,” said Masterson.

They plan to expand their Independence Readiness Program to help more young people with career assessments and training.

WLKY – BGH Receives $240,000 Grant

Boys & Girls Haven prepares children in foster care for life outside their campus.

“That’s the bigger thing, is teaching them the life skills they need to be young, functioning adults,” said Ayla Espinosa, a program supervisor.

Boys & Girls Haven will receive a $240,000 AmeriCorps grant to help them further their mission.
